TRESCOTT – Katrina M. Guptill, 87, died May 10, 2008, at Down East Community Hospital, Machias. She was born Nov. 29, 1920, in Trescott, the daughter of the late William and Nellie Ramsdell. She was predeceased by her husband, Maxwell Guptill in 1998. Due to her many hobbies and interests, she was lovingly known as “The African Violet Lady,” as she built many replicas of the Quoddy Light and the Channel Light. She was a faithful member of Seventh-day Adventist Church all her life and held many positions there. One of which was the treasurer for 50 plus years. Katrina is survived by one sister, Lorraine Coit and her husband, Johnny, of Lebanon, Conn.; one son, Robert Guptill of Tewksbury, Mass.; one daughter, Anna Heinlein and her husband, Clarence, of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 16, at Three Angels Seventh-day Adventist Community Church, Whiting, officiated by Pastor Ed Fleisch. Burial will be after at Dunn Cemetery, Trescott. Memorial contributions may be made to Three Angels Seventh-day Adventist Church, 960 US Route 1, Whiting, ME 04691.
