BRADLEY – Kenneth “Grampy” Shorette, 75, died peacefully Dec. 20, 2003, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 6, 1928, in Bradley, a son of Victor Sr. and Hazel (Bouchard) Shorette. Ken or “Grampy”, as he was affectionately known by, was very active in the Bradley and Milford Scouting programs and was committee chairman for many years. He was a big sports fan and enjoyed following the University of Maine teams, local sporting events, and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren compete. He was a communicant of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Bradley. He was employed at the Old Town paper mill for 42 years and also retired from the Bradley Volunteer Fire Dept. He enjoyed his camp at Chemo. He is survived by four children, Ethellena Hill and her husband, Ronald, Wilhelmina Gallant, Kenneth Shorette Jr. and his wife, Donna, and Margaret Shorette, all of Bradley; five grandchildren, Scott Hill, Marc Shorette, Cheryl Dyer, Kevin Gallant, and Geoffrey Shorette; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Gray and her husband, David, of Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Gloria (Lamb) Shorette on Christmas Day, 2002; and a brother, Victor Shorette Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2003, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Bradley, with the Rev. Rudolph Leveille, celebrant. Following the Mass all are invited for continued fellowship at the Parish Hall. Spring interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Bradley.
