DEER ISLE – Kenneth C. Eaton, 74, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at a Blue Hill hospital. He was born in Mountainville, July 27, 1929, the son of Parker L. and Helen A. (Beam) Eaton. Kenneth served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a lobster fisherman for many years, and also worked as a carpenter. For a few years, Kenneth worked at the Stonington Packing Company, and following the closing of that business, he returned to fishing. Kenneth enjoyed dancing, and seldom missed a Saturday night dance. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sandra J. (Pert) Eaton of Deer Isle; five children, Kenneth Guy Eaton of Deer Isle, Karmell Eaton and her husband, Henry, of Sedgwick, TimmiJoe Eaton and his wife, Lori, Jeffrey C. Eaton and his wife, Karen, and Leon C. Eaton, all of Deer Isle; five stepchildren, Carole Ann, Susie, Linda, Millie, and Fulton Gross Jr. “Skip;” 22 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two bro-thers, Samuel L. Eaton and his wife, Virginia, and Parker L. Eaton Jr.; and a sister, Dorothy Carter, all of Deer Isle; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kenneth was predeceased by four sisters, Gwenlyn, Elnora, Ruby, and Marlene; and a sister-in-law, Arlene. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Bragdon-Kelley-Camp-bell Funeral Home, Main Street, Stonington. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Reach Road, Deer Isle.
