CORINTH – Kenneth E. Buswell Sr., 81, the husband of Lorraine (Crane) Buswell, died Oct. 5, 2006, surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born July 8, 1925, in Corinth, the son of Maurice and Pearl (Bean) Buswell. Kenneth attended Corinth schools and then entered the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was in Paris, on V.E. Day and returned home Feb. 4, 1946, to work on a dairy farm; building it to be one of the larger dairy farms in the area. In 1968 he sold his cattle and continued with a trucking and construction business that he had started in previous years. He spent most of his life serving the town of Corinth, with many years of plowing snow, and more than 20 years as a selectman. In 2001-2002, the town of Corinth dedicated the Town Report to Kenneth, for his many years of service. He was a lifelong member of the Charleston Pentecostal Church and a longtime member of the Corinth American Legion Post. Kenneth was an avid hunter and a hard worker all his life. Surviving in addition to his wife of 43 years are four children, Ethel Odom and her husband, Arnold, of Interlachen, Fla., Kenneth Buswell Jr. and his wife, Donnetta, of Corinth, Rodney Buswell and his wife, Debbie, of Eddington and Maurice Buswell of Corinth; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Debbie Emery of Bangor, Steven Emery and his wife, Sandy, of Oliver Springs, Tenn., and David Emery of Corinth; seven stepgrandchildren and many great-stepgrandchildren; Kenneth’s special dog, Hannah; and many friends. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Ronald E. Libby officiating. Burial will be at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth. The family invites friends and relatives to join them at the Corinth United Methodist Church Annex for a time of conversation and refreshment immediately after the service.
