SPRINGFIELD – Kenneth Ort, 69, husband of` Lorraine (Hendershot) Ort, died Jan. 25, 2005, at a Lincoln hos-pital. He was born Aug. 25, 1935, in Mendham, N.J., the son of Stewart and Naomi (Beam) Ort. Kenneth was in the U.S. Army where he served as a machine gunist He and his platoon went to Korea for clean-up while the fighting was still going on there In addition to his wife, Lorraine, he is survived by three children, Kenneth Peter Ort and Debra, of Greenbush, Suzanne “Pumpkin” (Ort) Hinchcliff and David Shannon of Easton, Pa., and Kevin Robert Ort and Pat Glidden of Springfield; the mother of his children, Shirley Ann Riker Ort of Long Valley, N.J.; a stepson, Guy Charles Hendershot and Tina White of Webster Plt., a brother, Joseph Richard Ort; two sisters, Dorothy Ort DeFilippees and Frances Elizabeth Ort Meola. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a three-year old daughter, Debbie Ort; brothers, Charles, Stanley “Dink” Walter and William; and a sister, Anna May Ort Paliman. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Linda Hatch officiating.
