SURRY – Kenton Paul Griffith, 48, of Surry died Sept. 3, 2005, as the result of an accident on the Newberry Neck Road. Kenton was born July 30, 1957, in Moorpark, Calif., the son of Frank Harlan and Marilyn (Greco) Griffith. He had three main passions: his family, his music and the sea/sailing. Kenton was an avid musician and played in several bands when he was young. After high school, Kenton had the opportunity to play professionally and toured with Larry Altop all over the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. He was also quite the entrepreneur starting a landscaping business back in Massachusetts. After moving to Maine, he purchased Panax, an internet service provider, which he operated for several years. He also enjoyed many years of playing with his friends in a band called, The Funkshunals; sailing with friends and family, and will forever be remembered for his awesome pasta sauce! Kenton is survived by his wife of 20 years, Susan Benton Griffith; a son, Frank Harlan Griffith; and a daughter, Sara Lynne Griffith; and his mother, Marilyn Griffith, all of Surry; a brother, Jimmy Griffith of San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Melody Noone and his maternal grandfather, Joseph Greco both of North Andover, Mass.
