EDDINGTON and STONINGTON – Larna Marie (Billings) Wellman, beloved wife, mother and daughter, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008, at her summer cottage in Burnt Cove, Stonington. She was born Aug. 11, 1945, in Castine, the daughter of Estelle (Fifield) Billings and the late Richard S. Billings. Larna was devoted to her family, an animal lover, accomplished chef, interior designer and avid gardener. A former purchasing agent for Blue Hill Memorial Hospital and Taylor Hospital, Larna retired from the city of Bangor as a procurement specialist in 2005. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. She was a source of inspiration and strength to her family. She possessed a heart of gold and will be dearly missed. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Charles Wellman; her children, Julie Thompson and husband, Mark, Lisa Zanke and husband, Jason, Jayne Miller and husband, Peter III, Charles Wellman and partner, Tom Brancato; five grandchildren and a great-grandson, Torrie Trundy and companion, Ray Welch, and their son, Brandon, Justin Trundy, Natalie Zanke, Peter L. Miller IV and Elizabeth Miller; a brother, Harlan Billings; two nieces, Suzette Grindle and Sandra Shephard; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, neighbors and family. She was predeceased by a dear friend, Leslie Spencer; as well as her parents-in-laws, Glenn and Mary Wellman. A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, June 20, at Community of Christ Church, 91 Burnt Cove Road, Stonington, with Elder Lorraine Knowlton officiating.
