BROOKSVILLE – Laurence Austin Miner, 58, died March 26, 2004, after a long battle with kidney cancer in the home that he built on Cape Rosier. He was born Oct. 3, 1945, in Franklin, N.H. He spent 20 years in Pepperell, Mass., raising a family with his wife, Alison Edwards Christle Miner and moved to Brooksville in 1994. He is survived by his wife of Brooksville; his older daughter, Gwendolyn Miner; his son-in-law, Craig W. Looney; and his first granddaughter, Claudia Looney Miner, all of Haverhill, Mass.; his younger daughter, Gretchen L. DeMore; son-in-law, William A. DeMore, both of Framingham, Mass. He is also survived by three older siblings, his brothers, Herman A. Miner and wife, Nancy, of Hermon, Peter A. Miner and partner, Nancy Fulton, of Somerville, Mass.; and his sister, Alice Watson and husband, Jim, of Hereford, Ariz. There will be a memorial service 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2004, at the Coastal Ridge Elementary School in York, for family, friends, and neighbors.
