BANGOR – Laurence B. “Larry” Hanscom, 79, husband of Ruth M. (Potter) Han-scom, died unexpectedly May 4, 2005, at a local hospital. He was born May 7, 1926, in Old Town, the son of Augustis and Annabelle McKenna. Larry was employed for many years with O’Donnell’s Express and Border Express of Bangor and was a proud member of the Teamsters. Surviving in addition to his beloved wife, Ruth, of 55 years; are two children, Stanley Hanscom and his wife, Sherry, of Hermon, Joyce Chapman and her husband, Mike, of Bangor; 10 grandchildren, Susan, Shawn, Todd, Shelly, Sarah, Clyde, Shawn C., Eric, Kevin and Philip; several great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Robert Miles; many brothers and sisters-in-law, all of which he loved spending time with. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a service for the family only will be held Saturday. Private interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. Gifts in his memory may be made to Cancercare of Maine, care of Eastern Maine Charities, PO Box 404, Bangor, ME 04402-0404.
