LAWRENCE G. MCKEE ASHLAND – Lawrence G. McKee, 92, died June 20, 2006, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. He was born in Masardis, Feb. 21, 1914, the son of Charles and Linnie (Clark) McKee. Lawrence graduated from Ricker Classical Institute and Presque Isle Normal School. For many years Lawrence farmed and worked in the woods. Later he was self-employed as a carpenter. Lawrence was a member of the Masonic Pioneer Lodge No. 72 AF & AM of Ashland. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Avis (Swett) McKee of Presque Isle; two sons, William McKee of Ashland, Richard McKee and his wife, Barbara and their children, Richard and Tammy of Thomaston, Conn.; a daughter-in-law, Dorte McKee of Newport and her children, Antje and Garret; one brother, Raymond McKee of Garfield; four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Robert; two brothers, Ronald and Lendell; and by a sister, Marguerite. Relatives and friends may call 1 p.m. Saturday until time of service at the Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Committal service and interment will be in Masardis Municipal Cemetery.
