ST. FRANCIS – Lea Nadeau, 93, died June 6, 2008, at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born July 17, 1914, in St. Francis, the daughter of Lezime and Edith (Bourgoin) Thibodeau. Lea worked as a cook for lumber camps and in her later years, in the kitchen as a cook for SAD No. 27, St. Francis. She was a member of Ladies of St. Anne and C.O.F, both of St. Francis. She completed a first course in the Red Cross and was a member of Marian Movement of Priest. She did her cursio, arriving on her 4th day. Her favorite pastimes were cooking, playing cards, “Charlie,” and her flowers were her life. She is survived by two sons, Larry and his wife, Hilda Nadeau, of St. Francis and Eric Nadeau of St. John; one daughter, Lois and her husband, Leonard Pelletier, of Fort Kent; one sister, Jeanette Jandreau of Fort Kent; one brother, Paul Thibodeau of St. John; one son-in-law, Fernald Jandreau of Fort Kent; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Nadeau of St. Francis; one stepsister, Theresa Dobson; one stepbrother, Henry Thibodeau; one sister-in-law, Kathleen Johnson; eight grandchildren, Dale, Glenn, Robert, Larry Jr., Steve, Jason, Joy and Roland; 18 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roland Nadeau in 1972; one son, Richard Nadeau; one daughter, Iris Jandreau; nine brothers and sisters, Delina, David, Daniel, Ephriem, Pea, Randolph, Levite, Peter and Edith. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. Committal services will be after in the parish cemetery. In her memory, donations may be made to Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, 194 East Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743. Funeral services are being conducted by Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
