MAPLETON – Lee H. Dean, 77, died Friday morning Jan. 30, 2004, at a Mars Hill healthcare fac-ility. He was born Sept. 23, 1926, at Charlestown, Mass., the son of Lee H. and Alvena (Corey) Dean. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Lee worked as a steel fabricator. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of the Mapleton United Baptist Church. Lee is survived by his wife, Idella (Rockwell) Dean of Mapleton; son, Lee Dean of New York; two daughters, Peggy Littlefield and her husband, Daniel, of Rutland, Mass., Kathy Berube of Bristol, Conn.; two adopted daughters, Alyssa and Marissa Littlefield of Mapleton; five sisters, Marie Little, Dorothy Stephenson and Charlotte Tarbell, all of Mapleton, Alma Pelletier of Caribou, and Louise MacFarline of Presque Isle; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his mother and father; his stepfather, Linton Tarbell; three brothers, Donald and Kenneth Dean and Chester Graves. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Kenneth Phelps officiating. Relatives and friends may call from 12 noon until the time of service at the funeral home. A military committal will be held in the spring at Southside Cemetery, Mapleton.
