OAKFIELD and NIANTIC, Conn. – Leila (Manwaring) Odgers, 95, died Sept. 26, 2007, in Houlton. She was born Aug. 19, 1912, in New London, Conn., the daughter of Frank and Mary (Stanton) Manwaring. Leila was a longtime resident of Niantic, Conn., where she worked for the state. She retired in 1979 and moved to Oakfield. She is survived by two sons, Frederick C. and his wife, Barbara, of Niantic, Conn., and James R. and his wife, Anne, of Island Falls; three daughters, Priscilla A. and her husband, Thomas Williams, of Salen, Conn., Shirley E. and her husband, Paul Tarr, of Oakfield and Janice E. “Betty” Tarr of Smyrna; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick. A private graveside funeral service will be held at Oakfield Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Please omit flowers.
