LINCOLN – Lenora Dean “Lonie” Sturgeon Spencer, 93, died Oct. 11, 2004, at her home. She was born April 27, 1911, in Barnard, the daughter of Charles A. and Madeline (Damerill) Dean. Lonie had been a member of the Chit Chat Club, The Pilgrim Daughters, the Junior Extension, and the First Congregational Church of Lincoln. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was married first to Lawrence R. “Buster” Sturgeon, and later to Clarence Spencer, and was predeceased by both of them. She is survived by two sons, Lawrence D. “Bing” Sturgeon and his wife, Joan and Barry Sturgeon, all of Lincoln; a sister, Mary Jackson of Portsmouth, N.H.; two grandchildren, Linda and her husband, John Lombard, of Veazie; and Russell Sturgeon and his wife, Linda, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four great-grandchildren, Russell and Grant Lombard of Veazie, and Joseph and Paige Sturgeon of Colorado Springs; 16 nephews and three nieces; two stepdaughters, Madeline Spencer, and Janet and her husband, David Mullen; three stepgrandchildren, Kenneth and Penny Spencer and Michael Mullen. Lonie was predeceased by three brothers, Arnold, Donald and Frank Dean; and six sisters, Helen Chadbourne, Madeline Johnson, Ruth Copeland, Veltina Spencer, Edna Carroll, and Shirley Dean. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Friday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating.
