CARIBOU – Leo J. Chamberland, 75, died May 15, 2004, at Caribou, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 30, 1928, in St. Agatha, the son of Maximim and Marie (Duprey) Chamberland. Mr. Chamberland was a retired self-employed auto mechanic for many years. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He is survived by two sons, Leo Chamberland of Milton, Del., and Lee Chamberland of Berkley, Mass.; five daughters, Marie Hebert of Ada, Okla., Leola Murphy of Caribou, Sandra Gagnon of Eagle Lake, Linda Caylor of New Haven, Conn., and Carol Dennett of Bangor; four brothers, Max Chamberland of Woonsocket, R.I., Gilbert Chamberland of Enfield, Conn., Joseph Wallace Chamberland of Somerville, Conn., and Anthony Chamberland of Coventry, Conn.; five sisters, Alma Godin of Ashland, Jeannette Nemeth of Manchester, Conn., Marie Samociuk of East Windsor, Conn., Corette Picard of Mesa Ariz., and Clara Michaud of Calif.; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Chamberland was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Derosier) Chamberland, in 1999; and by two brothers, Henry Saucier and Thadee Chamberland. Private family services will be held at a later date. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mr. Chamberland may do so through the Cary Medical Center Jefferson Cary Foundation Oncology Clinic.
