MADAWASKA – Leo James Dumond, 76, died March 16, 2007, at a Van Buren nursing home. He was born Feb. 21, 1931, in Madawaska, the son of Medley and Yvonne (Dufour) Dumond. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Thomas O. Cyr Legion Post No. 147, Madawaska. He is survived by his wife, Jeannine (Sirois) Dumond of Madawaska; three sons, Gregory Dumond and his fiancee, Lise, of Litchfield, Mark Dumond and his wife, Karen, of Maynard, Mass., and Dean Dumond of Madawaska; one daughter, Natalie Martin of Madawaska; two half brothers, Gerald Dufour of St. David and Joey Dufour of Madawaska; two sisters, Nellie Shraeder of Dover, Del., and Joan Bowden of Raleigh, N.C.; two half-sisters, Edna Malloy of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Roberta Hughes of Panama City, Fla.; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at St. David Church. Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until the time of services Monday at Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. David Cemetery later in the spring.
