LINCOLN CENTER – Leola E. McGregor, 102, went home to be with the Lord April 7, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1905, in Carroll, the daughter of George C. and Rossie H. (Aldrich) Drake, the oldest of 10 children. Leola loved her home and church, and had a great love for her family, and her beautiful cat, Major. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, hunting, fishing, picking fiddleheads and her beautiful plants. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Smith “Smithy” Budge; her second husband, Howard McGregor; three brothers, Ardie, Wayne and Lynn Drake; and five sisters, Adeline Umbro, Ruth DeWitt, Thelma Drake, Effie Kennedy and Clarice McMullen. She is survived by a son, Norman “Buddy” Budge and his wife, Shirley, of Mattawamkeag; one grandson, Norman Budge Jr. and his wife, Dorothy, of Millinocket; one granddaughter, Barbara Patterson and her hus-band, Keith Patterson; three great-grandsons, Johnathan, James and Aaron Patterson, all of Christiana, Tenn.; one sister, Dorothy Young of Winterport; a sister-in-law, Connie Drake of Howland; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve McNally and the Rev. Alan Porter officiating. Interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery, later in the spring.
