MILFORD – Leon A. Treadwell, 72, died June 14, 2007, at a Bangor hos-pital, after a long illness. He was born May 2, 1935, in Augusta, the son of Alton and Hazel Treadwell. He graduated from Orono High School, Class of 1954. Leon served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, 1954-1958. He then began working in the construction business, where he drove trucks and was a heavy equipment operator. His real love and passion was drawing and painting murals, and western and civil war scenes. One of his most notable was the depiction of the evolution of man from the beginning to the 1940s-’50s era. This piece, he won a science fair award for while a freshman in high school. The other notable piece was the mural of the Brady Gang shoot out in Bangor. Surviving are his beloved companion of 33 years, Leslie Jollymoor of Milford; cousin, James Treadwell and his wife, Carole, of Orono; several cousins and many friends at Pat’s Pizza. Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, at Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono, with Pastor Ronald Chaffee officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call 10:30 a.m. Tuesday until time of the service. Interment with military honors will be at Milford Cemetery.
