HAMPDEN and ORRINGTON – Leon J. Doiron, 90, husband of the late Hilda (Casey) Doiron, died Aug. 1, 2006, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born Nov. 15, 1915, in Tracadie, New Brunswick, Canada, the son of Andrew and Bernice (Basque) Doiron. Leon was a retired Air Force sergeant who served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and served in the Army during World War II in the South Pacific, with the 152nd field artillery. He was a life member of the VFW Post No. 1761 of Bangor, life member of the Disabled Veterans, American Chapter 6 of Bangor and a life member of the Air Force Sergeant’s Association. Leon lived most of his life in Bangor. He is survived by his sister, Virginia Gorsky of Farmington, Conn.; two stepsons, Robert Reynolds of Hampden, Gerald Reynolds of Bangor; several nieces and nephews. Private interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
