BANGOR – Leonard Harold “Guss” Watson Sr., 69, died Jan. 31, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 20, 1936, in Veazie, the son of George and Marion (Hewes) Watson Sr. Guss was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed his CB, his flower garden, cucumber patch and making Christmas wreaths. He especially enjoyed working around the home and spending time with family. In addition to his wife, Clara of Bangor, he is survived by five sons, Bruce Watson and his girlfriend, Johnna Knowles, of Glenburn, Leonard Watson Jr. and his girlfriend, Valerie Giles, of Old Town, David Watson and his wife, Linda, of Skowhegan, Jimmy Watson and Randall Watson, both of Bangor; two brothers, George Watson of Brewer and Robert Watson of Old Town; two sisters, Josie Samiya and her husband, Mike and Marie Bacon, all of Veazie; 10 grandchildren; two great-grand-children; several nieces and nephews. Guss is also survived by some very special people in his life including his mother-in-law, Mildred King; sister-in-law, Muriel Talbot; niece, Belinda Adams; a special couple who were like a son and daughter, Gail and Leroy Hamm; and neighbor, Norma Andrews. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share at a gathering at 951 Pushaw Rd., Glenburn, following the service.
