FORT KENT – Leone Martin Cyr, 91, died peacefully Dec. 8, 2005, in Frenchville. She was born Jan. 16, 1914, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Vincent and Elodie (Michaud Desjardins. Leone was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne of Fort Kent. She was an avid crafter and bingo player. She was a wonderful cook and her excellent cuisine will missed by her family. She was very devoted to the Rosary and very strong in her Catholic faith, which she passed on to her children. She was predeceased by her first husband, Antonio Martin, Sept. 2, 1973, and by her second husband, Raoul Cyr, March 15, 1991. In addition to both parents and her husbands she was predeceased by one stepson, Martin Cyr; eight brothers and sisters, Catherine Cyr, Regina Dumais, Verna Voisine, Clarence Desjardins, Therese Caron, Elsie Gerard, Doris Brousseau and Donald Desjardins. She is survived by seven children, Doris Ouellette and her husband, Reno, of Fort Kent and Delray Beach, Fla., Ronald Martin and his wife, Paule, of Farmington, Conn., Rosaire Martin and his wife, Claire, of Fort Kent, Roger Martin and his wife, Carole, of Boca Raton, Fla., Dolores Dumont and her husband, Larry, of Fort Kent, Norman Martin and his wife, Janet, of Fort Kent and Joel Martin and the mother of his children, Carolyn, of Fort Kent; 20 grandchildren, David, Susan, Steven, Connie, Linda, Gail, Ryan, Terry, Michelle, Frank, Thomas, Kevin, Timothy, Carissa, Kelly, Jamie, Lynn, Tony, Tristine and Carrie, 32 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; stepchild, Robert Cyr and his wife, Leola, of Madawaska, stepdaughter-in-law, Joan Cyr of Tamarac, Fla.; one sister, Jeanne Labonte of Waterbury, Conn.; one brother, Reynold Desjardins of Plainville, Conn.; and sister-in-law, Lucienne Amato of Yonkers, N.Y. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday and 9 am. Monday until time of service, at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery in the Spring.
