EASTPORT – Lester W Pulk Sr., 80, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, surrounded by family, at the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home. He was born in Sanford. He was the son of Jesse and Maude Pulk. He was a lifelong resident of Eastport and raised five children, of whom he was very proud. He served in World War II in the Army throughout Europe. He worked for Bart Scott and at the Mearl for many years. In his later years, he worked for the Federal Marine and took care of his wife, Doris. He loved working on his home and tinkering around in his work shop. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Doris; an infant son, Kevin; and son, Paul; sister, Vera Kelly. Surviving are three sons, Lester W. Pulk Jr., Alfred L. Pulk Sr. and wife, Pearl, Wayne P. Pulk and wife, Jane; daughter, Pauline H. Pulk and fiance, Stacy Revels; brother, Herb and Ralph; and many grandchildren. Visiting hours were held Sunday at the Flagg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at the Flagg Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gordon H. Cook Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Eastport. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home.
