GLENBURN – Lewis G. Washburn died July 31, 2007, at his Glenburn home, after a brief illness. He was born April 18, 1948, in Bangor, the son of Albert and Eleanor (Grady) Washburn. During his career, Lewis was employed in carpentry, general maintenance and served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed outdoor activities, such as hunting, fishing and was constantly involved in special projects. Lewis was a fun-loving dad, husband and friend, who always knew how to make you smile. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Leita (Frey) Washburn; one son, Michael Washburn, both of Glenburn; one daughter, Angela Washburn of Brewer; one brother and wife, Albert Washburn Jr. and Rebecca of Rockland; two sisters, Noreen and her husband, Gad Liebmann, of Belfast and Mary Louise Abbadessa of Devon, Pa.; several nieces and nephews; and his two faithful companions, Luke and Brady. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, with the Rev. Grace Bartlett, interim minister for the First Congregational Church of Brewer, officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
