PLYMOUTH – Lila Josephine Ludden, 94, died Jan. 7, 2007, at a Pittsfield nursing home. She was born July 31, 1912, in Plymouth, a daughter of Gustave and Josephine (Meader) Hopkins. She graduated from Skowhegan High School, Class of 1930. Lila worked as a telephone operator, in Plymouth, for 10 years, and later as a housekeeper for James A. Taylor Hospital, Bangor, for 16 years. She was a past member of the Plymouth Grange. She is survived by nieces and nephews including, Joann Flynn of South Carolina, David Shaw and his wife, Eileen, of Etna, Ruth Elaine Tibbetts of St. Albans and Jane McMorrow and her husband, Mike, of Newport; foster daughter, Alison (Cossar) Volking of Sebois; and close friend, Lois Trask of Plymouth. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, with Dr. George Curtis III officiating. Friends may call 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Spring burial will be at Sawyer Cemetery, Plymouth.
