OLD TOWN – Lillian A. Buchanan, 73, died peacefully Feb. 18, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born Jan. 14, 1932, a daughter of Gilmore F. and Mildred (White) Soucy. Lillian was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her cat, “Nicky” and newly adopted “Suzette”. She attended many Highland Games with her husband, Elmer. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and stamp collecting. She loved to go out to eat, especially Chinese. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Eastern Star. To know her was to love her. She is survived by her husband, Elmer Buchanan of Old Town; a son, Theodore Buchanan and his wife, Verna, of Largo, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kristy, Jonathan, and Christopher Buchanan; three great-grandchildren, Kaili and Anthony Lupinacci and Aleczander Powers, all of Largo, Fla., “adopted” daughter, Diane Robichaud and her husband, Richard, of Bangor; a sister, Rita Soucy of Gaithersburg, Md.; special friend, Sam Moores of Orono; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Soucy; and sister, Rosemary Reid. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where members of the Daughters of Isabella will recite prayers at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Parish with the Rev. Normand Richard, celebrant. Immediately following the service all are invited to the Parish Hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
