BRADLEY and EAST CORINTH – Lillian “Tillie” P. Goodwin, 78, passed away Friday April 30, 2004, at an East Corinth nursing facility. She was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of the late Gerald and Lulu (Scott) Peters. Tillie was raised in Eastport, and graduated from Shead High School and continued her education to beautician school. She was employed with various retail stores in the area throughout her life. Tillie was a people person and was very generous with everything that she had. She adored her family and she was proud to say that she lived to see her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed antiquing and cooking. She is survived and will be sadly missed by two daughters, Carole Stacey of Bangor, and Mary-Lou Schmit and her husband, Ed, of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandson, Paul M. Lawrence and his wife, Mishelle, of Belfast; granddaughter, Sheryl Powell and her husband, Pete, of Phoenix, Ariz.; two great-grandchildren, Theodore and Jonathan Lawrence of Belfast; special friend, Genevra Chute of Bucksport; and her family at Emilio Estates in East Corinth. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul “Ted” Goodwin; son, George Goodwin; sister, Mattie Coyle; and brother, Gerald Peters Jr. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a celebration of life will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ron Chaffee officiating. Committal services will be private.
