NARAGANSETT, R.I. – Linda L. Blood, 64, of Narragansett, R.I., died unexpectedly May 20, 2004 at her home. She was born in St. Albans, Vt., April 10, 1940, a daughter of Elson and Edna Grange Blood. She resided in Narragansett for the past 39 years, previously residing in Houlton. Linda was a faculty member at the University of Rhode Island, Department of Human Development and Family Studies for 33 years until her retirement. She graduated from Houlton High School, received her BS from the University of Maine, her MS from Oklahoma State University, and worked towards her doctorate at Ohio State University. She was a member of several professional organizations. Linda was predeceased by her father, Elson Blood in 1974; and by her mother, Edna Blood Hilyard in 1997. She is survived by a brother and his wife, Peter and Carol Blood of Houlton; an aunt and uncle, George and Jean Sawyer of Smyrna Mills; an aunt and uncle, George and Lucille Grange of Sun City Center, Fla.; a niece and her husband, Kimberly and Michael LaLiberte of Portland; a nephew, Andrew Blood of Weymouth, Mass. She is also survived by many cousins, long term close friends, former students and colleagues. Linda will be remembered for her love of travel and her fond stories of Maine. A private committal service will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Houlton. Local arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.
