HANCOCK – Linwood C. Jordan “Hank”, 87, born March 7, 1918, died peacefully Sept. 3, 2005, surrounded by his family. He was the son of Clyde and Dora Jordan of Hancock. Hank is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carrie Moon Jordan; a daughter, Nancy Dow of Ellsworth; a son, David Jordan and his wife, Jane, of South Windsor, Conn.; a grandson, Albert Dow and his fianc?e, Theresa, of Ellsworth; a granddaughter, Suzanne Baez and her husband, Glenn, of Hancock; a grandson, Richard Jordan and his girlfriend, Jen Madore, of Lamoine; a granddaughter, Robin Beal and her husband, Charlie, of Ellsworth; a grandson, Ryan Jordan of South Windsor, Conn.; great-grandsons, Chris and Tyler Baez of Hancock, Mathew Hudson of Ellsworth; and a great-granddaughter, Kristen Beal of Ellsworth. He was predeceased by his sister, Pauline Duffy of Bremmerton, Wash. Upon retirement from Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, Conn. in 1983, Hank and Carrie have traveled the United States, wintered in Florida and spent summers at their home in Hancock. Hank was very competitive and enjoyed a good game of horseshoes, table pool and shuffleboard. He was a true Boston Red Sox baseball fan and never missed a game. Hank went to several spring training games each year. Hank served in the U.S. Army and is a veteran of World War II. He was involved in the first crossing of the Rhine River in Germany during World War II and was honorably discharged as a sergeant. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Riverside Cemetery in Hancock.
