BANGOR – Linwood J. Potter, 84, husband of Jeannette (Roy) Potter, died Sept. 14, 2006, at a local hospital. He was born April 9, 1922, in Houlton, the son of Benson and Nellie (Victory) Potter. Linwood served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a lifetime member of the Isaac E. Clewley Post No. 4917 of Brewer. He was employed by the City of Bangor for several years. Surviving besides his wife of Bangor are one son, Duane D. Potter and his fianc?e, Kim Embleton, of Eddington; one sister, Rachel H. and her husband, Edward Rich, of Bangor; five grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was predeceased by his parents, Benson and Nellie (Victory) Potter Kelley; his stepfather, Stanley Kelley; three brothers, Arnold, Gilbert and William Potter. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ohio Street, Bangor, with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone officiating.
