MILFORD – Linwood M. O’Keefe, 82, died peacefully Friday, Sept. 1, 2006, at a Bangor health care facility after a long illness. He was born June 9, 1924, in Milford, son of the late Herbert and Angie (Fowler) O’Keefe. Linwood graduated from Old Town High School, Class of 1943, and continued his education at Higgins Academy. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was later a member of the Old Town VFW Post 3381. Linwood was formerly employed by Jorden Lumber Co. of Old Town and Fairmont Hardware in Bangor for 20 years. In better health, he looked forward to dancing every Saturday night and going to camp with his family. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Marie (LaBree) (Chabe) O’Keefe of Milford; three sons, Chris O’Keefe and his wife, Patricia, of East Falmouth, Mass., Brent O’Keefe and his wife, Theresa, of Milford, Todd O’Keefe of Milford; two daughters, Beth O’Keefe and her companion, Merle Howard, of Greenfield, Lisa McDonald and her husband, Patrick, of Lacanto, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Brenda Tucker and her husband, Paul, of Milford, Paula Soloby and her husband, Bill, of Voorhees, N.J.; stepson Stephen Chabe and his wife, Lina, of Greenbush; sister, Evelyn Adams of Cardville, 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and; a grandson, Justin, who held a very special place in his heart for the past 26 years. A graveside service will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday at the Milford Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Stevens officiating.
