ENFIELD – Lionel H. Strong, 60, husband of Emogene (Brinkley) Strong, died Oct. 5, 2005, at the place he loved so much, Grants Kennebago Camps in Stetsontown Township. He was born Sept. 8, 1945, in Boston, Mass., the son of Oliver Edward and Dorothy (Reynolds) Strong. Lionel was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed cooking, camping, hunting and fishing, and loved his work at Grant’s Kennebago Camps. He was noted for his humor and his story-telling and enjoyed calling in on radio talk shows. In addition to his wife, Emogene, he is survived by a sister, Roxanne and her husband, Harris Cohen, of Zephyrhills, Fla.; two brothers, Ernest Strong of Ohio and Edward Strong; a stepsister, Pam Andella of Boston; his mother-in-law, Mildred Brinkley of Jacksonville, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Howard, Andrew and Steven Cohen and Jill Fogg; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Byron Brinkley of Macclenny, Fla., Edgar Brinkley and Martha McQueen, both of Jacksonville, Fla. He also leaves his beloved animals, Buddy, Sassie, Niki and Tigger. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Paul. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Williams officiating.
