MADAWASKA – Lionel LaChance, 86, died May 22, 2006, at a Van Buren nursing home. He was born Nov. 18, 1919, in St. Agatha, the son of Benoit and Marianne (Dionne) LaChance. He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran and a member of the Thomas O. Cyr Legion Post No. 147 of Madawaska. He is survived by three daughters, Linda Coltart and her husband, Richard and Gail Bourgoin and her husband, Reginald, all of Madawaska and Judy Bailey and her husband, Robert, of Bangor; one son, Lionel Mark LaChance of Madawaska; one sister, Juliette Roy of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; one brother, Renald LaChance of Waterbury, Conn.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Dorothy Bosse; four brothers, Armand, Valere, Aurele and Fernand LaChance. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Friends and relatives may call 1 p.m. until time of services Friday at the Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
