CHERRYFIELD – Lorena M. Colbeth, 92, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at Narraguagus Bay Healthcare Facility, Milbridge, after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Cherryfield, she was born there March 14, 1915, daughter of the late Oscar and Lois E. (Tracy) Dobbins. Ms. Colbeth attended and graduated from Cherryfield Academy. She worked most of her life in Cherryfield. She and her husband, Milford, had a lunch stand summers and a filling station for 21 years and a grocery store for 10 years. She also worked two years in at the Portland Shipyard as a welder and many years with Jasper Wyman & Sons Blueberry Co., as a floor lady in Cherryfield and Ellsworth. She loved trout fishing and old style country music shows. She also loved Hank Snow and Ernest Tubb and other oldies. She also loved yard sales with her longtime companion, Walter Leach; and a real good friend, Anna Marie Grant. Mrs. Colbeth was a loving grandmother, who was always sharing and giving to others. She shared 48 years of marriage with the late Milford W. Colbeth, who died in 1982. She was also predeceased by a very close companion, Walter R. Leach, who died July 2007. She was also predeceased by a brother, Charles Dobbins. Family members include her son, Fulton Colbeth and his wife, Nedra, of Cherryfield; grandchildren, Thomas Colbeth, Kathy Colbeth, Kimberly Colbeth, Timothy Small and Anthony Small and his companion, Walter; great-grand-children, Fulton Warden, Michelle Dorr, Ryan Small, Justin Small, Joshua Small, Mathew Small, Dylan Small and Kate Small; five great-great-grand-children; a cousin, Eunice Grant; a niece, Charlene Dobbins, and her children, Bethany and Jason; and a close friend, Marie Grant. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Brag-don-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge, with a service 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Art Fairbrother officiating.
