NAPERVILLE, ILL., and BANGOR – Louis F. “Lou” Ruocco, 70, for-merly of Bangor and Marl-borough, Mass., died Friday, July 2, 2004, at Alden of Waterford in Aurora, Ill. He was born Jan. 23, 1934, in Bangor. Mr. Ruocco grew up in Bangor, and was a member of the Bangor High School, Class of 1953. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-1958, and went on to graduate from the University of Maine at Orono in 1963. Mr. Ruocco was employed for many years as auditor for the Office of the Inspector General, retiring in 1989. Mr. Ruocco was a former parishioner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor, and was an avid fan of all the Boston area sports teams. He is survived by a brother, Peter (Marion) Ruocco of Naperville, Ill.; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and one great-great-nephew. He was predeceased by his parents, Matthew and Natalia Ruocco; and a sister, Marie Lamothe. Services were held Tuesday, July 6, from the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, Ill., with a Mass of Christian Burial at SS. Peter & Paul Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville, with the Rev. Peter Jankowski officiating. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, DuPage Area Office, 1801 Meyers Rd., Suite #100, Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. 60181.
