BLUE HILL – Louise (Billings) Collins, 74, died March 3, 2004, at her residence in Blue Hill. She was born June 16, 1929, in Blue Hill, the daughter of James A. Billings Sr. and Margaret (Howard) Billings. Louise graduated from Blue Hill George Stevens Academy in 1947 as valedictorian of her class. She was employed by Blue Hill Memorial Hospital for 37 years in the admissions department. She was a lifetime member of the Blue Hill Baptist Church and was also a member of the Mountain Rebecca Lodge for more than 50 years. She was a loving mother and wife, a gifted piano player, a wonderful gardener, and the keeper of a kind, loving, and gentle spirit. Louise is survived by her son, Sage and his wife, Alexa, of Blue Hill; daughter, Autumn and her husband, William Rhoads, of Port Saint Lucie, Fla.; her brother, L. Burke Billings and his wife, Jackie, of Penobscot; two grandchildren, Amber Bakeman and Joshua Collins; and two great-grandchildren, Elena and John Bakeman III. She was predeceased by a son, Stuart Winter in 1955; her husband, Waldo, in 1989; and her brother, James Billings Jr. in 1973. Friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2004, at Healey Funeral Home, South Street, Blue Hill. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at the Blue Hill Baptist Church, Pleasant Street, Blue Hill, with Pastor Paul Comeau and Chaplain Allen Myers officiating.
