WINTHROP – Louise F. Perry, 91, died early Friday morning, June 17, 2005, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. She was born June 27, 1913, in Winthrop, the daughter of Carroll and Edith (Benson) Perry. Louise graduated from Winthrop High School, Class of 1931, and Farmington Normal School in 1933. For the next 10 years she taught school in Lincoln, Sherman, and Belgrade Lakes. In 1943, and for the next several years, she went to work as a waitress at the Samoset Hotel and Lake Placid Club in New York and the Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla. Upon her retirement in 1975, she moved back to Maine, residing in Island Falls until eventually returning to Winthrop in 1987. Louise was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred and Lotta Perry. She is survived by her brother, L. Alfred “Buster” Perry and his wife, Ruth, of Winthrop; two sisters, Lucille Roberts and Patricia Woolston, both of Winthrop; five nieces; three nephews; several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, June 19, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop, where a celebration of her life will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Heidi Chamberland, officiating. A private family burial will be held in Glenside Cemetery at a later date.
