LOUISE P. LAPOINTE PRESQUE ISLE – Louise P. LaPointe, 74, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at a Presque Isle nursing home. She was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Caribou, the daughter of Guy and Mary I. (Belanger) Giggey. Louise greatly enjoyed being with family and friends. She also dearly loved her collection of angels. She was a communicant at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle, as well as being a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Louise was a Gold Star Sister of the Presque Isle Chapter of the Disabled Veterans of America. She is survived by her loving husband, Eric LaPointe of Presque Isle; a son, Rev. Guy Woodworth and his wife, Theresa, of Presque Isle; a daughter, Debora Taylor and her husband, Jimmy, of Winterport; two brothers, Dan Giggey and his wife, Irene, of Cokato, Minn., Milford Giggey and his special friend, Cora, of Blaine; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her faithful K-9 companion, “Daisy”; and many special friends and acquaintances, including Jennie Pelkey, Marion Tardie, Bridie Doak and Lily Aquilan. In addition to her parents, Louise was predeceased by a brother, Wilfred Giggey; and a sister, Helen (Giggey) Knoll. At the family’s request there will be no visitation. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle, with the Rev. Fred Irving celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s North Main St. Catholic Cemetery. Following the service there will be a reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Chapman St. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in her name to the Central Aroostook Humane Society, P.O.
