DEXTER – Loy “Ike” Berry, 53, died Jan. 24, 2006, at a Bangor hospital following a long period of ill health. “Ike” was born May 8, 1952, in Corning, Calif., the son of Loy M. and Marjorie (Barth) Berry Sr. He was educated in California schools and graduated from Exeter California High School. He also took several college classes during his younger years. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army for two years. “Ike” liked to play his guitar and write songs for his family and friends. He is survived by two daughters, Nerissa Berry and companion, Eric Lovely, of Dexter and Amanda Berry of Omak, Wash.; one sister and her husband, Regina and Kevin Goodman of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two grandchildren, Emerald Irvin and Domanic Lovely; and a nephew, Shane Berry. He will also be remembered by his former wife, Cindy Berry and many friends throughout the United States. He was predeceased by his brother, Joy Berry. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 34 High St., Newport. Graveside services will be conducted in the spring at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, with Pastor Al Worden, officiating.
