WESLEY – Lucy C. Metta, 81, passed away Feb. 17, 2005, after an extended illness. She was born Oct. 4, 1923, in Marion Township. Lucy loved children. In addition to their own children, Lucy and Nicholas Metta took care of many foster children. Lucy and Nicholas ran Cloud Nine for seven years. After retiring, they moved to Day Hill where they enjoyed their grandchildren and great-grandchildren for many years. Lucy also enjoyed watching birds and wildlife, and flowers. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Nicholas Metta; children, Harriet Hachey and husband, Paul, of Vassalboro, Butch Metta of Wesley, Camille Hawkins and husband, Ivan, of Wesley, Samuel Metta and wife, Donna-Jean, of East Machias, George Metta and wife, Patti, of Baileyville, Dianne Carlow and companion, Sebastian Sicari, of Whitman, Mass., 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Roberta Thompson; and a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Metta. Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, officiated by the Rev.
