SEBEC and DOVER-FOXCROFT – Lucy E. Dow, 90, wife of the late Ralph Marshall Dow Sr., died Nov. 15, 2007, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born Jan. 24, 1917, in Wellington, the daughter of LeRoy and Zenobia (Allen) Stanhope. Lucy was an active member of Sebec Community Christian Church. She enjoyed helping and working at local functions. She loved all animals, especially dogs, and will be remembered by her family and many friends as an exceptional cook. Lucy is survived by six sons, David and his wife, Kathy, of Barnard, Ralph Jr. and his wife, Lynette, of Brownville, Andrew and his wife, Carol, of Orneville, Wayne and his wife, Karen, of Dover-Foxcroft, Danny and his wife, Gail, of Sebec, and Benny and his wife, Susan, of Sebec; a daughter, Annette Richard-son and her husband, Mark, of Dover-Foxcroft; a brother-in-law, Lewis Dow and his wife, Leona, of Sebec; four sisters-in-law, Alice Shepardson of Dover-Foxcroft, Helen Thomas and Luella Ostrotsky of Connecticut, and Norma Stanhope of Florida; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Harold Pratt and his wife, Marilyn, and Richard Pratt; a daughter, Doris Dow; a brother, Andrew Stanhope; and a sister, Hilda Millett. Friends are invited to call 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, with Pastor Bea Violette of Sebec Community Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Sebec Village Cemetery.
