EAST MILLINOCKET – Lucy I. Dempsey, 86, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at a Bangor nursing home. She was born Sept. 25, 1921, in Masardis, the daughter of Edmund and Vera (Barrows) Burleigh. Lucy is survived by her daughters, Shirley McAdam and her husband, Gene, and Linda Pelkey; six grandchildren, Mark, Danny and Donnie Pelkey, Lorrie Nadeau, B-J Dumoulin and Billy Voisine; three sisters, Bernice Nickerson, Sylvia Osborn and Dorothy Day; a special sister-in-law, Priscilla McLaughlin; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence “Bill” Dempsey; and a son, William. The family gives a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Ross Manor, as well as Jim, Melissa, Henry, Penny, Pete and Bonnie Lyons, Diddy Barker, Julie Waite, Eleanor Malcolm, Aaron Hutchins, Craig, Lisa and Chris Moore for their friendship and support. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at East Millinocket Cemetery with Deacon Danny Watson officiating.
