HUDSON – Luenett Hughes, 78, wife of the late Paul Hughes, died May 3, 2007, at her residence, after a long illness. She was born July 17, 1928, in Exeter, the daughter of Benjamin and Sarah (Rogers) Bubar. She had worked in the Old Town and East Corinth shoe shops, and had formerly attended the Hudson Baptist Church. She was a very devoted mother, grandmother, and a very special great-grandmother. Surviving are a daughter, Ethel Thayer and her husband, Wendall, of Hudson; two sons, Alfred Halloran and his wife, Linda, of Hudson, and George Halloran and his wife, Becky, of Glenburn; a brother, Ed Bubar of Orneville; a sister, Ida Niles of Old Town; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a soon to be great-great-grandson. Luenett was predeceased by a son, Winfred “Butch” Halloran. Friends may call 1 p.m. Saturday until time of services 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, with Pastor Ronald E. Libby officiating. Burial will be at Hudson Cemetery. The family invites friends and relatives to join them in a time of friendship and refreshment after the service at the residence, 168 Darling Road, Hudson.
