CROSS LAKE and CARIBOU Madeleine D. Holmquist, 72, died Aug. 11, 2004, at Fort Kent. She was born March 30, 1932, in Caribou, the daughter of Leonard and Helen (Corbin) Bourgoin. Mrs. Holmquist was a graduate of Caribou High School, and was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was a life member of both the Lister Knowlton Post 9398 VFW and Henry B. Pratt Post No. 15 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, where she also was a past president. She married Harvard Holmquist in 1970. Madeleine served as the deputy finance officer at Loring Air Force Base for many years, and following her retirement she assisted her husband in the daily operations of the family business, Harvard’s Market. Surviving in addition to her husband, Harvard of Cross Lake, are three stepsons and their wives, David and Debbie Cyr, Charles and Linda Cyr, and Francis and Carole Cyr, all of Caribou; one stepdaughter, Louise Jose and her husband, Jeff, of Caribou; three sisters, Lillian Michaud and her husband, David O., of Caribou, Loretta Theriault of Massachusetts, and Rena Goldenberg of Georgia; eight step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Madeleine was predeceased by her first husband, Vincent Corroppoli. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the New Sweden Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou.
