MADELINE H. REARDON HARTLAND and DEXTER Madeline H. Reardon, 87, died March 24, 2008, at a Charlton, Mass., health care center. She was born July 8, 1920, in Hart-land, a daughter of Wallace and Mamie (Spaulding) Cook. She graduated from Hartland Academy, Class of 1939 and had worked at Jamesbury Valve Co., Worcester, Mass., for many years, retiring in 1981. Madeline returned to Maine in 1986 and attended People’s United Methodist Church, Newport and Ripley United Methodist Church. She was a member of Nokomis Chapter No. 42, Order of the Eastern Star and had served as past matron in Newport and East Douglas, Mass. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul, in 1974; as well as a brother, Roland Cook; and a sister, Maxine Manson. She is survived by three sons, Galen of Tennessee, Ronald of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Dennis of Pennsylvania; a daughter, Sheryl Polichak of Dexter; a sister, Shirley Staples of Farmingdale; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, where an Eastern Star service will be held 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 31, at the funeral home with the Rev.
