MILLINOCKET – Madeline M. Tapley, wife of Charles S. Tapley Jr., passed away on Feb. 21, 2004, after a long illness. She was born Madeline M. McDade Feb. 15, 1929. She was the oldest of three children of William and Katherine McDade. She is survived by her brothers, John of Golden, Colo., and Frank of Millinocket; her husband of 56 years, Charles of Millinocket; and two sons, Phillip W. Tapley of Millinocket, and Daniel W. Tapley of North Waterboro; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was a very kind and loving mother and an inspiration to her family. She fought a long and difficult battle with great strength and integrity. She will be dearly missed by all who her life touched. At her wish there will be no public service. A close family service will be held at a later date. Gifts in Madeline’s name may be made to the charity of ones choice.
