BANGOR – Mae H. Factor, 100, wife of the late Fred G. Factor, died peacefully Aug. 14, 2005, at her Bangor home. She was born May 1, 1905, in Appleton, Wis., a daughter of Edward and Anna (Zimmerman) Bauman. Mae attended nursing school and began her career as an RN at Henroten Hospital. She married Fred and they made their home in Oak Park, Ill., where Fred was a pharmacist and co-owner of Zehender-Factor Pharmacy. Mae was active in the Oak Park community, St. Giles Parish and Cordi-Marian Settlement. She moved to Bangor in 1977 and became an active member of St. Mary’s Parish. She was a former member of St. Mary’s Sodality Council and served as a Eucharistic minister. She was an active volunteer at EMMC in the Telecare program and at St. Joseph Hospital Hospice. In 1998, Mae moved to the Phillips-Strickland House, where her centenarian birthday was celebrated on May 1, 2005, with over 100 of her friends and family. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Parish. Mae is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Dela Factor of Bangor; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Mae Williams and husband, James, of Burlington, N.J., Kenneth Prescott Factor and his wife, Michele of Burlington, N.J., Catherine Marie Russell and husband, Douglas Jr., of Upton, Mass.; seven great-grandchildren, Benjamin Factor, James Williams, Douglas Russell III, Kathryn Williams, Grace Factor, Holly Russell, Samuel Russell; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s Catholic Church. Committal prayers and entombment will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Hillside, Ill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Hospice, 1344 Main Rd., Eddington, ME 04428; or Masses may be requested at the church of your choice, or at St. Joseph’s Oratory, 3800 Queen Mary Road, Montreal, QC, Canada H3V 1H6.
