PEMBROKE – Malcolm “Macky” Ernest Lingley, 81, passed away Sept. 15, 2006, at Orono Commons. Macky was born Jan. 7, 1925, in Dennysville. Macky started his own business in the logging industry, and later was self-employed doing construction. There is hardly a home in Pembroke that Macky didn’t somehow have a hand in building. Macky was the caretaker for the Clarkeside Cemetery, Pembroke. He was a long-standing member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department. Macky was predeceased by his parents, Alvery George and Hope (Phinney) Lingley; brothers, Harland, Harvey, George and Sumner; daughter, Doreen; and granddaughter, Danielle. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Muriel (Frost) Lingley; brothers, Clyde, Donald and Earle; sisters, Gladys Stanhope, Susie Kilton and Mae Berry; children, Barry Lingley, Christine Curtis, Dale Lingley and Darlene Lingley; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jamie, Robert, Christian, Michael, Gwen, Britney, David, Brian and Dylan; and 13 great-grandchildren. An informal graveside service for friends and relatives will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Clarkside Cemetery with Michael Curtis, presiding. Memorial donations may be sent to Christine Curtis, 142 Husson Ave., Apt. 67, Bangor, ME 04401, to assist with funeral costs and a headstone for Macky.
