OLD TOWN – Mamie L. Young, 81, passed away early Sunday Nov. 20, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Jan. 9, 1924, in Old Town, daughter of the late Charles H. and Lucy E. (Judkins) Young. Mamie attended Old Town schools and was a graduate of Old Town High School. She worked for Striars Textile for 19 years and LaBree’s Bakery for five years. Mamie volunteered for Senior Companions for two years and was a member of the R.S.V.P. She is survived and will be sadly missed by three daughters, Faith Lincoln and her husband, Gerald, of Dixmont, Krista Richards of Milford and Cheryl Wood and her husband, Walter, of Orono; two sons, Ashley Young Jr. and his wife, Sue, of California and David Young and his wife, Missy, of Eddington; two sisters, Iris Miller of Tennessee and Lona Webb of North Carolina; eight grandsons, Gerald Lincoln Jr. and his wife, Vanessa, of Dixmont, Greg Lincoln and his wife, Kim, of Etna, Gary Lincoln and his wife, Betty, of Dixmont, Allen Paradis and his wife, Katrina, of Kansas, Joey Young and his wife, Karen, James Young and his wife, Deree, Jeremy Young and his wife, Rachel, all of California and Kristoffer Young and his wife, Dora, of Bangor; three granddaughters, Bambi Lincoln of Dixmont, Sheila Doughty of Bangor and Marissa Wood and her companion, Jey Goslin, of Old Town; 14 great-grand-children, Amber Horr and husband, Avery, and their daughter, Kaylee, Noelle, Meagan, Devin, Gary Jr., Taylor and Nicholas Lincoln, Nikki, Taylor,; special daughter, Bailey and Cole Young, Chenoa Greenwood, Connor Young Brenda Bell of Old Town; three stepgrandsons, Richard Wood of Texas, Bary Wood of Bangor and Scott Dada of Massachusetts; many nieces and nephews. The family would like to send a sincere thank you to the nurses and staff at St. Joseph Hospital Critical Care Unit and ER departments for the unconditional care and hospitality that was given. Your kindness will forever be remembered. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by Ashley Young; and seven brothers. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a Celebration of Life will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ron Chaffee officiating. Committal will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Lawndale Cemetery in Old Town.
