LINCOLN – Margaret A. Bryer, 83, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, with close members of her family at her side at Penobscot Valley Hospital. She was born July 1, 1920, in Pictou, Nova Scotia, the daughter of the late William R. and Elizabeth M. (McDonald) Campbell. Margaret was a sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked many years at the South Lincoln Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide. She loved sharing her stories of the good old days of waitressing and potato picking. She will be remembered as an avid bowler and competed in many tournaments held at Lakeside and Broadway Lanes. She was very passionate about the long drives to the coast and being with family. She had a special place in her heart for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by family, a special friend, Bonnie Murray, and her extended family at Cummings Health Care facility. Margaret was predeceased by her husbands, Everett E. Bryer and George H. Dunbar; granddaughter, Deborah L. Batchelder; sisters, Dorothy Cobb, Emily Bradford; brothers, Alfred, Russell and Harold Campbell. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila E. and Randy L. Vaillancourt of Howland, and Brenda J. and Eddie Overlock of Levant; grandchildren, Bryan and Sheila Batchelder of Levant, Russell and Tina Batchelder of Enfield, Ronald and Sharon Wallace Jr. of Howland, Kathy Overlock of New York, Eddie and Lisa Overlock of Old Town, Lewis Overlock of Bangor, and Brent and Annette Dority of Hermon; great-grandchildren, Callie Brown, Joshua and Cayte Batchelder, Anthony, Eric and Dakota Batchelder, Amanda Wallace, Ryan and Brittany Overlock, Devan and Brent Overlock; and stepchildren, Cheryl Mott, Reginald and Carlton Bryer.
