CARIBOU – Margaret F. Lamoreaux, 96, died peacefully Oct. 28, 2005, at a Caribou healthcare facility after a long illness. She was born Oct. 17, 1909, in Germantown, Pa. the daughter of John and Margaret (Post) Foskett. Margaret was a graduate of Port Jervis N.Y. High School, Stroudburg, Pa. Normal School and New York University. Margaret was married in August 1932 to Henry C. Lamoreaux, who predeceased her in 1978. Together they taught for many years in the public schools of Warwick, N.Y. where Margaret was an elementary teacher, a principal and an educational consultant for New York State. Upon retirement they moved to Caribou, spending winters in Naples, Fla. Margaret was a member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church and was active in golf, gardening, Mah Jongg and bridge circles. Margaret is survived by her niece and husband, Patricia and Donald Collins of Caribou; great-nieces and great-nephews, Kitty Wiesendanger of Charleston, W. Va., Michael Collins of Saco, Senator Susan Collins of Bangor, Nancy Collins of Haverford, Pa., Sam Collins and Greg Collins, both of Caribou. She is also survived by several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. As according to Margaret’s wishes there will be no services. Interment will be in Naples, Fla. Donations in her memory may be made to the Caribou Public Library.
